If you’re reading this, I’m going to make a few assumptions. First, I’m going to assume that you love to read. You are my people, then, because I do, too. Signs. Cereal boxes. Brochures. Recipes. Where sugar falls in a list of ingredients (unless it’s a day I really don’t want to know!) And, of course, books. Lots of books. Which leads me to my second assumption. . .
Books are what brought you here.
I’m excited about that, because it means one of my titles spoke to you personally or touched your heart in some way. Or maybe you stumbled across a town like Mirror Lake or Castle Falls and met some characters who started to feel more like friends, so you wanted to linger there a little while longer.
And then you saw the word BLOG…
Those are kind of like belly buttons these days, right? It seems like everyone’s got one.
But here we are! And if 2020 taught me anything, it’s the importance of staying connected.
One of my favorite things to do is make a big pot of soup or a cheese tray (I am from Wisconsin, after all!) and invite people over. We gather around the table and share photos of things that make us smile. Talk about family and food and what God has been up to. What makes us laugh and what makes us sad. Books we love and movies we’d watch again. Things we want to grow in our garden and in our lives.
Like everyone else, I’ve had to get pretty creative when it comes to spending time with people and Table Grace is part of that. To be honest, I’m not quite sure what it’s going to look like yet. But if your love of reading brings you back again, pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea and pull up a chair. There’s a place at the table for you!
